I have a theory about this anime. So Odakawa has a mental illness right and it affects his senses and how he views things? And because of this he can identify people he has seen before even in a crowd and here is where my theory comes into play. You see everyone in this anime is a normal human being and not an animal person and we are seeing the world through Odakawa's eyes or how he views the world, so basically what I am saying is that odakawa see people as animal people.
